Lucina Blackburn passed away Saturday, Nov. 20th, 2010 at the Salem Community Hospital. She was born on April 26th, 1918 to her parents the late French Blackburn and Besie Spears Blackburn. She was the wife of the late Lester Blackburn, a homemaker, and a member of the Big Branch Old Regular Baptist Church. Along with her husband and parents, Lucina was preceded in death by one daughter, Helen Shenefield, and one infant daughter. Lucina is survived by three sons, Eugene (Barbara) Blackburn, Marvene (Joyce) Blackburn, Danny (Susan) Blackburn all or Pikeville, two daughters, Berneda (Jess) Fitch, and Deloris (Roger) Knauf both of Salem, Ohio, one sister, Fay Blackburn of Pikeville, two brothers, Ersel (Margie) Blackburn of Richmond, Mi., Chester (Judy) Blackburn of Varney, Ky., fourteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Monday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010 at 11a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Richard Staton, Danny Runyon, and others officiating. The burial will follow in the Blackburn Family Cemetery at Lower Johns Creek.
