Olga Mae Lowe Blackburn, age 93, of Georgetown, Ky., formerly of Pikeville passed away Thursday, Sept. 30th, 2010 at the Dover Manor Nursing Home in Georgetown. She was the widow of Henry H. Blackburn. She was born in Pike County on Nov. 26th, 1916 the daughter of the late Prillman Lowe and Kansas Blackburn Robinson Lowe. Her daughter, Marketta and son in law Edgar Farris both preceded her in death, along with four brothers and three sisters. She was a member of the Bent Branch Old Regular Baptist Church, a retired Ky school teacher with 50 years of service to the children of Kentucky. Two years of teaching were in Martin County with the remaining service in Pike County. She was a member of NEA, KEA, PCEA, and MCEA. She was also a Ky Colonel. Olga is survived by two daughters, Geneva (Carl) Pullen of Lexington, Jeanette Stansbury of Louise, and three grandsons, Richard Pullen, Christopher and Alexander Farris, one sister, Dorothy Maynard of Raccoon, Ky., and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday from 4p.m. to 8p.m. at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Monday Oct. 4th, 2010 at 10a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. The burial will follow in the Machpelah Cemetery in Mt. Sterling, Ky.
