Elster Ray Hawkins

Elster Ray Hawkins, age 79 of Wolfpit Branch Road, Elkhorn city, Kentucky went to be with our LORD on Wednesday, July 6, 2010 at Mountain View Nursing Care He was born in Pike County on October 5, 1930, the son of the late Johnny Hawkins and Lorna Green Hawkins He was married in 1950 and had two daughters He was baptized into the Baptist faith at Edgewater Baptist Church, Chicago, Illinois in 1959. He worked in Chicago 30 years as an Electronic Relay Adjuster. His job transferred him to Austin Texas where he retired working for the state of Texas. He returned to the Pike County area in 1999 where he spent his retirement years until the Lord called him home. He was preceded in death by one sister, Glema Hawkins Ratliff of Pikeville, Kentucky. He is survived by two daughters Rhonda Arlene Hawkins Guptill and husband Brian of Burr Ridge Illinois; Sherry Robbin Hawkins Carlson and husband Robert of Colon Michigan.; two Sisters Vivian Ratliff Draffin, Kentucky; Anna Marie Rowe of Rockhouse KY; and a host of special nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 9, 2010 between 6-9p.m. at Lucas & Son Funeral Home with a special prayer service at 7:00pm with Pastor Jerry Adkins presiding. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 10, 2010 at noon in the Lucas and Son Funeral Home with the Pastor Jerry Adkins of Elkhorn officiating. Burial will follow at the Johnson Memorial Park Cemetery.
