Charlie Damron age 91 passed away Tuesday, August 31st, 2010 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Charlie was born on January 27th, 1919 to his parents the late Caleb Damron and Lizzie Adkins Damron. He was the husband of the late Nancy Damron, a retired plumber for over 27 years for the Pike County Board of Education, and a member of the Caney Creek Old Regular Baptist Church. Along with his wife and parents, Charlie was preceded in death by one son, Donald Damron, three brothers, Albert, Jim, and Reece Damron, and four sisters, Rachel Damron, Becky France, Alma Little, and Dolly Tucker. Charlie is survived by two daughters, Ethel Damron Long of Regina, Ky., Almedia Damron Frazier of Elkhorn City, five sisters, Mary Case, Nancy Tackett, and Mertie Tucker all of Pikeville, Goldie Tucker and Cindy Case both of Virgie, Ky, eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Friday Sept. 3rd, 2010 at 12 noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Kermit Wright, Jerry Overstreet, Willis Bartley, Teddy Honaker, Barry Lucas, and others officiating. The burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
