Mary Hamilton

Mary Lou Hamilton, age 78, of Island Creek, passed away December 6, 2010, at the Pikeville Medical Center. She was born July 16, 1932, the daughter of the late Luther and Della Swiney. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, the late William Hamilton, and by her son, Danny Hamilton. Mary was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist Faith. She is survived by one son, Troy Hamilton of Island Creek, one daughter, Jackie Compton of Wyandotte, Mi., one brother James A. Swiney, and three sisters Lizzie Ratliff, Samantha Holbrook, and Rita Thacker, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Island Creek Old Regular Baptist Church. The funeral will be Thursday, Dec. 9th, 2010 at 1p.m. at the Island Creek Old Regular Baptist Church with Leonard Hamilton and others officiating. The burial will follow in the Swiney Family Cemetery at Island Creek.
