Creed Morgan Vanover

Creed Morgan Vanover, age 82, of Dorton, KY, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2008, at the Norton Community Hospital. He was born on March 17, 1926, the son of the late Will and Martha Mullins Vanover. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters. Before his retirement, Creed had worked for Beth Elkhorn Coal Company. He was also a member of the Dorton United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Helen Stanley Vanover, by one son, Kenneth Vanover of Penny Road, by two daughters, Susan Mullins of Pound, VA and Lawana Jones of Pensicola, FL, by nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 28, 2008 after 6 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Glen Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
