Rebecca Blackburn

Rebecca Blackburn, age 80 passed away Wednesday, October 14th, 2009 at her home. Rebecca was born on March 3rd, 1929 to her parents the late John Fitch Damron and Lydia Compton. She was the wife of the late Hut Blackburn, a retired nurse for VA Hospital, and a member of Little Creek Old Regular Baptist Church. Along with her husband and parents, Rebecca was preceded in death by three brothers, Bob Damron, J.F. Damron Jr., and James Damron, and six sisters, Edna Potter, Gertrude Ford, Margaret Preston, Atha Damron, Ruby Kinney, and Ruth Hobson. Rebecca is survived by four sons, George (Rita) Blackburn of Ford's Branch, Greg (Jennifer) Blackburn of Charleston, WV., Gary (Anita) Blackburn of Ford's Branch, Goble (Tamela) Blackburn of Collins Hwy., four daughters, Forresta Jean (Ralph) Johnson of Collins Hwy., Patricia (James) Shaffer of Nicholasville, Ky., Pamela (Wesley) Adams of Jonancy, Ky., Jamie Blackburn of Collins Hwy., sixteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Friday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Saturday 10-17-2009 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Teddy Honaker, Kermit Wright, and others officiating. The burial will follow in the Damron Family Cemetery at Collins.
