James William Newsome

James William Newsome age 72 of Booker Fork of Pikeville passed away Wednesday, May 6th, 2009 at his home. James was born on August 5th, 1936 to his parents the late Elder Noah Newsome and Rebecca Ann Kiser Newsome. He was the husband of Katherine Bryant Newsome, a retired employee for Dayton Manufacturing, and a member of the Old Regular Baptist church. Along with his parents, James was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward, Lonza, and Jesse Newsome, and threee sisters, Dixie Hamilton, Hazel Collier, and Ethel Baldwin. Along with his wife, James is survived by one daughter, Melinda K. Boyles and her husband, Chad of Pikeville, Ky., two grandsons, James Matthew (Leslie) Adkins of Pikeville, John Tyler Adkins of Pikeville, one great-grandson, Braiden James Adkins of Pikeville, two brothers, Vernon Newsome of Dayton, Ohio, Luther Newsome of Napoleon, Ohio, two sisters, Edna Hamilton of Teaberry, Ky., Ruth White of Ohio, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Friday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Sunday 5-10-2009 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with old REgular Baptist Ministers officiating. The burial will follow in the Davidson Memorial Garden at Ivel.
