Roy Clayton Newsome

Roy Clayton Newsome, 46, of Robinson Creek, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2009 at Pikeville Medical Center. He was born January 14, 1963 to Bertha Damron Newsome and Caleb Newsome. Roy was employed with EQT as a director of drilling. He was of the Baptist faith. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Norman Richard Hall and one sister, Brenda Kay Newsome. Besides his mother, Roy is survived by his wife, Dianna Lynn Roberts Newsome, one son, Randy Newsome of Robinson Creek, and one daughter, Natasha Brooke Newsome Gannon of Raccoon Creek, KY. He is also survived by four brothers, Marvin Newsome of Michigan, Greg Newsome of Michigan, Phillip Newsome of Hazard, and Ray Newsome of Pikeville. He also leaves behind four sisters, Norma Jean Burke of Virginia, Vanessa Fleming of Corbin, KY, Deborah Slone and Connie Irick of Virgie, along with two grandchildren, Riley Lloyd Newsome and Izabella Gannon. Visitation will begin after 6 PM Saturday, November 21, 2009 at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home. Special services will be at 7 PM Friday and Saturday night. Funeral services will be at 1 PM Monday. Burial will follow at the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
