Leona Hall age 89 passed away Thursday, October 15th, 2009 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Leona was born on May 11th, 1920 to her parents the late Ben Johnson and Lucy Johnson. She was the wife of the late Silas B. Hall, a homemaker, and a member of Calvary Freewill Baptist Church. Along with her husband and parents, Leona was preceded in death by one son, James Noble Hall, one grandson, James Noble Hall Jr., five brothers, Hassel, Brian, Grover, Noah, and Russell Johnson, and one sister, Della Slone. Leona is survived by four sons, Burlean Hall of Virgie, Ky., Russell D. Hall of Virgie, Ky., Burnis Eugene Hall of Paintsville, Ky., Roy Vernon Hall of Virgie, Ky., one sister, Mable Tackett of Virgie, Ky., five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Friday at 6p.m. at the Calvary Freewill Baptist Church. Special Services will be Friday and Saturday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Sunday at 1p.m. at the Calvary Freewill Baptist Church with S.J. Bates officiating. The burial will follow in the Ben Johnson Cemetery at Indian Creek.
