Herbert Hoover Cable

Herbert Hoover Cable age 80 passed away Monday, Feb. 2nd, 2009 at the Bristol Regional Hospital. Herbert was born on October 25th, 1928 to his parents the late Charlie Cable and Bessie Estep Cable. He was the husband of Olene O. Lawhorn Cable, a retired coal miner for Sol Mining Company, and a member of the Caney Old Regular Baptist Church. Along with his parents, Herbert was preceded in death by his first wife, Geneva Cable, one brother, Charlie Boy Cable, and five sisters, Elizabeth Neilands, Bertha Laws, Dixie Little, Jessie Hostetler, and Cora Cable. Along with his wife, Herbert is survived by three sons, Danny Cable of Lizzie Fork, Jimmy Cable of Gilbert, S.C., Tommy Cable of Caney, four daughters, Reba Burke of Dorton, Ky., Patricia Morgan of Caney, Betty Newsome of Caney, Brenda Robinson of Caney, three brothers, Joe Cable of Lexington, Ky., Dave Cable of Dorton, Ky., John Cable of Ohio, four sisters, Jettie Haubauch of Ohio, Lexie Gibson of Lexington, Ky., Goldie Sweeney of Lexington, Ky., Jane Lake of Nicholasville, Ky., eleven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Thursday at 11a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Kermit Wright and others officiating. The burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
