Edward R. Farmer

Edward R. Farmer age 74 passed away Monday March 2nd, 2009 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Edward was born on March 2nd, 1935 to his parents the late Rev. Cecil Farmer and Julia Ratliff Farmer. He was the husband of Eloise Thacker Farmer, a retired warehouse supervisor for Pepsi Cola, a believer of the Old Regular Baptist Faith, and he also served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Along with his parents, Edward was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Clifford Eugene Farmer. Along with his wife, Edward is survived by one son, Ed (Laurie) Farmer of Pikeville, two daughters, Rita (Jeffrey) Hurley of Harold, Ky., Donna Casey of Harold, Ky., two brothers, Ervin (Charlene) Farmer of Regina, Ky., Dan (Jean) Farmer of South Carolina, two grandchildren, Wesley Farmer, Evelyn (Stan) Ratliff, one great grandchild, Brandon Johnson, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Special services will be Tuesday and Wednesday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Thursday at 12 noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Brad Billiter, Homer Ramsey, James Hamilton and others officiating. The burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
