Mack Slone, age 79, of Johns Creek, passed away Sunday, February 7th, 2010 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Mack was born October 25th, 1930 to his parents the late Robert Slone and Lizzie Slone. He was the husband of the late Roberta Slone, a retired teacher for the Pike County Board of Education, and a member of the Cowpen Freewill Baptist Church. He also served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Along with his wife and parents, Mack was preceded in death by one son, Steve Slone, and one sister, Ravena Lyons. Mack is survived by one daughter, Angela Burns of Lexington, one son, Keith Slone of Pikeville, one sister, Avonelle Slone of Warren, Mi., two grandchildren, Haley Nesselrode of Lexington, Kellan Burns of Lexington, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6p.m. to 10p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Wednesday 02/10/2010 at 11 a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Ed May officiating. The burial will follow in the Sword Family Cemetery at Island Creek.
