Palmer Adkins, 81, of Greasy Creek, KY passed away January 5, 2009 at his residence. He was born April 4, 1928 in Pikeville, KY to the late Tom Adkins and Cindia Blair Adkins. He was a retired from Republic Steel, a member UMWA, and an Army Veteran. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nada Kendrick Adkins, three sisters, Hazel Stevens, Gladys Stevens, and Mona Adkins, along with for brothers, Blake Adkins, Jonah Adkins, Kelsvie Adkins, and Paul Gene Adkins. He was also preceded in death by one great granddaughter, Haylee Adkins. Palmer was survived by one daughter, Evelyn (Rick) Senters of Greasy Creek and three sons, Wade Adkins of Greasy Creek, Tony (Phillene) Adkins of Greasy Creek, and David Adkins of Greasy Creek. He leaves behind two brothers, Vaultress Adkins of Salyersville, KY and Dempsey Adkins of Greasy Creek, along with six grandchildren, Jonathan (Kristie) Senters, Krist (Ryan Tackett) Senters, Damon Adkins, Dalton Adkins, Rachel Adkins, and Sarah Adkins, and one great grandson, Jackson Ryan Senters. Visitation will be at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home after 6 PM Wednesday, January 6th. There will be special services Thursday at 7 PM. Funeral services will be at the funeral home at 1 PM Friday, January 8th, and burial will follow at the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
