J.C. Potter age 80 passed away Monday 1-11-2010 at the Pikeville Medical Center. J.C. was born on March 19th, 1929 to his parents the late Joe Coleman Potter and Elizabeth Potter. He was the husband of Ruby Johnson Potter, a coal miner, and a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church. Along with his parents, J.C. was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters. Along with his wife, J.C. is survived by two sons, J.C. (Eva) Potter Jr. of Shelby Gap, Ky., Johnny Earl (Teresa) Potter of Shelby Gap, Ky., one daughter, Linda Elizabeth (Terry) Anderson of Shelby Gap, four grandchildren, Tyan Potter, Tiffany Potter, Matthew Anderson, Joby Potter, two great-grandchildren, Dalton Lane Potter, Maleigha Grace Anderson, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Old Elkhorn Regular Baptist Church. Special services will be Tuesday and Wednesday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Thursday 1-14-2010 at 11a.m. at the Old Elkhorn Regular Baptist Church with Charles Nitchie and others officiating. The burial will follow in the Potter Family Cemetery at Shelby Gap.
