Carvin Damron age 85 passed away Sunday March 21st, 2010 at the Highlands Regional Medical Center. He was born on February 5th, 1925 to his parents the late Rob Damron and Almedia Damron. He was the husband of Ruby Roberts Damron, a retired coal miner for Island Creek Coal Company, and a member of the Caney Creek Freewill Baptist Church. Carvin also served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II. Along with his parents, Carvin was preceded in death by fourteen brothers and sisters. Along with his wife, Ruby, Carvin is survived by one daughter, Shirley (John) Southway of Port Huron, Mi., four sons, Bob Damron of Prestonsburg, Chuck (the late Marian) Damron of Pikeville, Randy (J.J.) Damron of Cincinnati, Ohio, Roger Damron of Houston, Texas, two brothers, Fred (Cookie) Damron of Pikeville, Robert Damron Jr. of Foley, Alabama, two sisters, Clara Inman of Delaware, Martha Ann (Nolan) Newcomb of Elkhorn City, Ky., eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Thursday, March 25th, 2010 at 12 noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
