Bill Riddle, 86 years old of Collins Highway passed away Saturday March 20, 2010 at his residence. Bill was born in Pike County on November 20, 1923 to the late Willie and Pearl Riddle. He was a mail carrier and assistant postmaster for the U.S. Postal Service and also a veteran of the U.S. Army who had served in World War II. Bill was a member of the Baptist Faith and a Kentucky Colonel. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Riddle and Nick Riddle, along with four sisters, Gladys Branham, Hazel Damron, Nettie Riddle, and Nana Thacker. Bill leaves behind his wife, Elizabeth Riddle of Collins Hwy and his two sons, Bill Avery (Tracy) Riddle and David Riddle, both of Collins Hwy. He is also survived by three sisters, Jacqueline Mullins of Pikeville, KY, Bessie Lowe of Anderson, SC, and Shirley Riddle of Daytona Beach, FL, along with four grandchildren: Cade, Shelby, Kater, and Tyce Riddle. Bill had three special caregivers that made his last days more comfortable: Teresa Case, Sandy Casebolt, and Lela Hylton. He will be missed by a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home after 6 P.M. Sunday March 21. There will be special services Sunday and Monday at 7 P.M. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Tuesday March 23, and burial will follow in the Riddle Family Cemetery on Collins Highway.
