Barbara Faye Lucas

Barbara Faye Lucas age 73 passed away Tuesday, May 19th, 2009 at her home of Shelby Gap. Barbara was born on Feb. 7th, 1936 to her parents the late Millard Filmore Oakes and Georgia Ball Oakes. She was the wife of Lloyd Clayton Lucas Sr., a homemaker, and a member of the Church of God of Prophesy at Burdine, Ky. Along with her husband, Barbara is survived by two sons, Lloyd Clayton Lucas Jr. of Shelby Gap, Ky., Jeffery Allen Lucas of Myra, Ky., three daughters, Teresa Ann Hall of Shelby Gap, Ky., Zeela Carol Mullins of Manchester, Tn., Regine Faye Simpkins of Shelby Gap, Ky., one sister, Doris Hensley of Asheville, N.C., two brothers, Jimmy Oakes of Dorton, Ky., Freddy Allen Oakes of Dorton, Ky., nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Thursday May 21st, at 11a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Slone officiating. The burial will follow in the Sam Lucas Cemetery at Shelby Gap.
