Eugene Sykes

Eugene Franklin Sykes age 73, passed away Tuesday, September 8th, 2009 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Eugene was born on October 22nd, 1935 to his parents the late Dave Sykes and Elzie Bevins Sykes. He was the husband of the late Mary Francis Taylor Sykes, and a retired self employed coal truck driver. Along with his wife and parents, Eugene was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Sykes and Darrell Sykes, and one sister, Marie Sykes. Eugene is survived by two daughters, Terri Morris of Lexington, Pam Sykes of Pikeville, one son, Michael Sykes of Shelbiana, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Saturday 9-12-2009 at 12 noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
