Acie Newsom

   Acie Newsom age 89, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Pikeville Health and Rehab.  Acie was born on January 5, 1935 to his parents the late John B Newsom and Lizzie Newsom.  He was the husband of Ola Bartley Newsom, a retired salesman for Pepsi Co, and the President of the Local Union for many years.  He was of the Old Regular Baptist Faith.  Acie loved watching sports.  His favorite was fishing and he was the "Best Fisherman on Caney".  He was a big UK fan and loved watching car racing.  
   
   Along with his parents, Acie was preceded in death by one sister, Dacie Hamilton, two brothers, James Clyde Newsom and John Henry Newsom.  

   Acie is survived by his wife, Ola Bartley Newsom, one son, Michael (Sandy) Newsom, one daughter, Angela (Kevin) McClain, one sister, Dicie Vinson, one brother, Delaney (Betty) Newsom, two grandsons, John McClain and Casey McClain and a special pet Charlie.
 
   Visitation will be Monday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
