Alice Jane Stallard

     Alice Jane Stallard, age 81, passed away Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Ky.  Alice was born on April 1, 1943, to her parents the late Carl DePriest and Velva Shook DePriest.  She was the wife of Jim Stallard, a homemaker, and she also taught music at Burdine Christian School.  She was a member of the Burdine Freewill Baptist Church and a member of the Ladies Auxillary.

     Along with her parents, Alice was preceded in death by four brothers:  John, Jack, Sam, and Joe DePriest.

     Along with her husband, Alice is survived by one son, Craig (Sandy) Stallard, one daughter, Terri (Jay Nussbaum) Stallard, one grandchild, Harry Stallard, and a host of loving family and friends.  

     Visitation will be Saturday from 2p.m. to 3p.m. at Powell Valley Memorial Garden Chapel at Big Stone Gap with Paul DePriest officiating.  Burial will follow at Powell Valley Memorial Garden. 

     In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Bluegrass Care Navigators or the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center.
