Alta Mae Johnson

    Alta Mae Johnson, age 87, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2024 at the Pikeville Medical Center.  Alta was born October 25, 1937 to her parents the late Fred Milam and Ethel Sanders Milam.  She was the wife of the late Johnny Martin Johnson Jr., a homemaker, and a believer of the Old Regular Baptist Church.

     Along with her husband and parents, Alta was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Francis Bryant, one son, Leslie Johnson, one granddaughter, Breann Johnson, and several brothers and sisters.

     Alta is survived by two sons, Fred Allen Johnson, Perry Johnson, two brothers, Thomas Milam, Jimmy Milam, three sisters, Ada Milam, Mary Collins, Glenda Casler, six grandchildren, Justin, Jessica, Samantha, Katelyn, Jonathan and Steven, six great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends.

    Visitation will be Sunday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home.  Church services will be Sunday and Monday at 7p.m.  The funeral will be Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2024  at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Barry Lucas, Jerry Damron, Goble Burke, Jeff Little, and other Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating.  Burial will follow in the Elkins Wright Cemetery at Three Mile.
