Amy Jean Thacker

    Amy Jean Thacker, age 80, passed away Monday, July 1, 2024 at the Pikeville Medical Center.  She was the wife of the late Reford Thacker, a retired dietician for Mountain Manor Nursing Home for over 27 years, and a believer of the Church of God Faith. Amy was born on Sept. 27, 1943 to her parents the late Russell Thacker and Maggie May Norman Thacker.

Along with her husband and parents, Amy was preceded in death by one brother, Cornelius Thacker and one sister, Arlene Williams.

    Amy is survived by two daughters, Diana (Greg) Boggs, Lisa (Matt Kimberlain) Syck, her companion, William Vanover, and his son, Chris (Becky) Vanover, one sister, Lois Adkins, four grandchildren, Nathan Boggs, Ethan Boggs, Chase Syck, Brynn Vanover, two great grandchildren, Jayce Syck and Kambry Syck, and a host of loving family and friends.

    Visitation will be Wednesday at 6p.m.  at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home.  Church services will be Wednesday and Thursday at 7p.m.  The funeral will be Friday at 11 A.M. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Jimmy Reed Adkins officiating.   Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
