Anita Abshire

Anita Faith Fields Abshire, age 69, of Kimper, Ky., passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at her home.  Anita was a member of the Upper Grapevine Church of Christ.  She was one of the most caring and loving souls you could ever meet.  She was born on July 26, 1955 to her parents the late Richard Fields and Earnie Belle Fife Fields.   She was also preceded in death by her brother, Alfred Fields, and three sisters, Fayetta Justice, Suetta Hill, and Evelene Belcher.

     She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jim Abshire, one daughter, Lora (Rob) Caines, one son, Dewayne (Tonya) Abshire, one granddaughter she raised as a daughter, Katlyn Hopkins, one sister, Rita Justice, one brother, Fonso Fields.  Anita is also survived by her grandkids, Luke, Josh, and Andrew Caines, Chloe Abshire, Austin Abshire, and Chasity (Calvin) Gearles, five great grandchildren, Raelyn, Colten, and Callie Gearles, and Ellie and Jersey Thacker.  Someone like a daughter, Paula Fletcher, some very special friends, Shelia Meade, Nadine Pugh, Dana Hilton, and Bernice Wilson, a host of loving nieces, nephews, that she loved so much.  We would also like to thank everyone with Hospice Care.  My mom loved each of you so much and we thank you for such great care you showed during her illness.

    Visitation will be Thursday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home.  The funeral will be Friday, Nov. 22, 2024 at 12 Noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Bryant Justice officiating.  Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
