Arnold Junior Bartley

Arnold Junior Bartley, age 88, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2020 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Junior was born on January 12, 1932 to his parents the late William Bartley and Trilby Gibson Bartley. He was the husband of the late Lavaughn Rowe Bartley, a coal operator, and a member of the Marrowbone Missionary Baptist Church. Along with his wife and parents, Junior was preceded in death by one brother, Eppie Bartley, seven sisters, Gladys Holland, Oma Cole, Nellie Bartley, Marcella Coleman, Giree Coleman, Madge Hamm, and Stella Senters. Junior is survived by two daughters, Pamela (Eddie) Smith, Debbie (Roger) Adkins, one son, Ben (April) Bartley, one brother, Clinton Bartley, five grandchildren, Caressa Dawahare, Jeremy Adkins, Jonathan Adkins, B.J. Smith, Rebekah Smith, five great grandchildren, Tristan, Ashton, Elijah, Emmalie, Jonah, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Saturday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Sunday night at 7p.m. The funeral will be Monday, Sept. 21, 2020 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Charles Keesee, Estil Mullins, and Randy Bentley officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery at Shelbiana.
