Avalene Hobson Compton

Avalene Hobson Compton, age 94, of Pikeville, Ky, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2018, at the Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center.Avalene was born in Pike County, Ky. to her parents the late Augustus Payne Hobson and Myrtie Clark Hobson. Avalene was a homemaker and a Believer of the Pentecostal Faith.   Avalene was the wife of the late Teddy James Compton.Avalene was preceded in death by her parents, Augustus Payne Hobson and Myrtie Clark Hobson, her husband, Teddy James Compton, one son, Orville Lee Compton.  Avalene was preceded in death by several brothers and sistersAvalene is survived by three sons, Gayle Compton (Sharon), Gary Wayne Compton, Teddy Dale Compton (Cheryl) and one daughter, Myrtie Kay Hall (Ray).  She is survived by six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and one great- great grandchild and a host of loving family and friends.Visitation will be Monday, September 10, 2018, 6:00 PM at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home, with church services at 7:00 PMFuneral services will be Tuesday, September 11, 2018, 11:00 AM at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home, with Donnie Hall and Leonard Lowery officiating. Burial will follow in the Fleming Cemetery, Jonancy, Ky.
