Benny Adkins

Benny Adkins, age 70, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Ky. He was the husband of the late Loretta Adkins, a retired coal miner, and a member of the Church of Christ. Benny was born on Feb. 20, 1953 to his parents the late Dot Adkins and Mable Irene Brooks Adkins. Along with his wife and parents, Benny was preceded in death by one brother, Jackie Adkins. Benny is survived by three daughters, Ada (William) Compton, Irene (Wesley) Fleming, Leah (Tim Daniels) Traylor, three brothers, Ace (Mildred) Adkins, Milton (Susie) Adkins, Gary (Wanda) Adkins, one sister, Reba (Roy) Stoffel, eight grandchildren, Dottie, LaResha, LeAnn, Kacie, Chasity, Terry, Whitney, and Summer, six great grandchildren, Natalee, Jackson, Hunter, Amberlee, Emmaleigh, and Mikynlee, a best friend that was like a brother, Donald Jackson, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Friday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Friday and Saturday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Sunday, March 5, 2023 at 1 P.M. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Buddy Ford officiating. Burial will follow in the Dan Adkins Cemetery on Ford's Branch, Ky.
