Bernice (Cole) King

July 4, 1933 — June 30, 2024

Bernice (Cole) King, of Robinson Creek, Kentucky, passed away June 30, 2024 at Pikeville Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Douglas King.  She was a long time member of Aldersgate Community Church ( formerly Aldersgate United Methodist Church).

Bernice is survived by her daughter, Vicki Bell (and her husband, Robert) of Parrish, Florida, and her son, David Robert Hall (and his wife, Evelyn) of Pikeville, Ky.  She is survived by five grandchildren:  Jeremy Bell (his wife, Melissa); Justin Bell (and his wife, Sarah); Jordan Bell (His wife, Sarah): Cara Schwalbach (her husband, Chase): and Carmen Hall-Lamb (her husband, Dostell); and six great grandchildren, with a seventh one being expected in November 2024.  She is also survived by her brother, Ralph Cole, of Mooresburg, Tennessee; and her sister, Loretta Newsom (her husband, Arthur) of Robinson Creek, Kentucky.

The family would like to extend its appreciation to the staff of Cedar Creek Assisted Living and Bluegrass Care Navigators, as well as Bonnie Thacker, Tiffany Wellman, and Kim Huffman, who provided care and support during her final days.

Visitation will be on Friday, July 5th, beginning at 6:00p.m.  The funeral service will be on Saturday, July 6th, at 2 p.m. at Lucas & Son Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Annie E. Young Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be in form of donations to Bluegrass Care Navigators or to Cedar Creek Assisted Living Facility.
