Betty Jo Compton

Betty Jo Compton, age 82, of Pikeville, Ky, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2019, at her residence. Betty Jo was born on November 24, 1936, to her parents the late Everett Burkett and Bessie Ann Goble Buckett Burke.  Betty Jo was a homemaker and a Census surveyor with the Federal Government, with a two year accounting degree.  Betty was a member of the Buckfield Freewill Baptist Church.  Betty Jo was the wife of the late Charlie Compton. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers, one sister, one great grandchild-Kaia Humphrey. Betty is survived by two sons, Phillip King (Sharon), Ronny Compton (Tresea), three daughters, Pamela King Humphrey, Donna King Sykes (David) April Compton Bowman.  She is survived by two brothers, Jay Burke (Mary Jo), Donnie Burke (Billie), ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 24, 2019, 6:00 PM at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home.  Church services will be Wednesday and Thursday night at 6:00 PM. Funeral will be Friday, July 26, 2019 at 12:00 Noon at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home with Bruce Sawyers officiating. Burial will be at the Compton Cemetery at Little Creek.
