Betty Sue Tackett Damron, age 72, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018 at the Pikeville Medical Center. She was born on May 27, 1946 to her parents the late Bill Tackett and Hazel Turvey Tackett. She was the wife of Robert Pete Damron, a homemaker, and a believer of the Old Regular Baptist Faith. Along with her parents, Betty was preceded in death by four brothers, Vanis, Jimmy, Homer, and Elmer Ray Tackett, one sister, Juanita Bentley, and one grandson, Matthew McKinley Damron. Along with her husband, Betty is survived by one daughter, Hazel (Patrick) Cable, one son, Robert M. (Sandra) Damron, three brothers, Wade, Carl, and Ermel Tackett, two sisters, Bonnie Cable, Donna Hall, five grandchildren, Scott Cable, Angeline (Ryan) Reynolds, Dimitri Metaxas, Charles Damron, Robert Peter Damron II, one great grandson, Noah Ryan Reynolds, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Friday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home Church services will be Friday and Saturday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Sunday, Dec. 30, 2018 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Teddy Honaker, Jimmy Dale Sanders, Mike Justice, and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Damron Family Cemetery at Little Creek.
