Billie Sue Hall Bartley, a cherished beacon of warmth and love, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2024, in Ashland, Kentucky. Born on June 13, 1936, in Fords Branch, Kentucky, Billie's life was a testament to the power of kindness, faith, and family. Throughout her 88 years, Billie's role as a homemaker stood at the heart of her existence. She poured her soul into nurturing her family, creating a home that was both a sanctuary and a place of joyous gathering. Her son Jeff Bartley and wife Dolly of Sumerduck, VA, her daughters, Beverly Bellomy and husband William of Ashland, KY, and Vivien Queen of Summit, KY, were the center of her universe, along with her cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, who were the apples of her eye. Billie's love extended to her brother Lewis Hall (Adele) of Richwood, OH, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members, each of whom felt the warmth of her affection and care. Billie's legacy is carried on by her adoring family, including her grandchildren Elizabeth Freeman (Dale), Rebecca Duncan (Chris), Channe Stone (Brad), Raechel Burchett (Jeff), William "Billy" Bellomy, Jr., (Bobbie), James Allen Queen, great grandchildren Mackenzie Jackson, William Jackson, Cameron Jackson, Brennan Duncan, Madison Duncan, Bailey Duncan, Noah Duncan, Jonas Duncan, Grace Duncan, Max Duncan, Sam Duncan, Violet Duncan, William Stone, Jack Stone, Rylie Carpenter (Tucker), Audrey Burchett, Elaina Burchett, Olivia Burchett, Skylar Wilson, Elijah Prichard, Harlan Bellomy, great-great grandchildren Zephyr, Attikus and Addison. Addition survivors include her brother Lewis Hall (Adele) of Richwood, OH and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. who will continue to be inspired by her loving example. This remarkable matriarch was preceded in death by her parents, Palmer Ray and Carrie Jean Yates Hall, her beloved husband Arthur Allen Bartley, her siblings Charles "George" Hall, Donald R. Hall, Woody B. Hall, Jacqueline Harris, her son-in-law Mike Queen, and two brothers and a sister in infancy. Billie was a steadfast member and Sunday school teacher at Fords Branch Church of Christ in Pike County and attended Princess Chapel Church in Boyd County. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and providing strength during times of hardship. Her love for the Lord was evident in her dedication to reading the Bible and engaging in Bible trivia, which she did with unwavering enthusiasm. Her home was a hub of activity, with the smell of home-cooked meals and the sound of laughter always present. Billie's culinary skills were unmatched, whether she was cooking, canning, or simply ensuring that no one left her home hungry or thirsty. Her generosity knew no bounds, and her door was always open to friends, family, and even strangers in need of comfort or a listening ear. Billie's talents extended beyond the kitchen; she was also a creative soul who found joy in crafting. Her hands were rarely still as she created beauty in the world around her. Yet, it was her time spent with family, especially her grandchildren, that truly filled her heart with happiness. Each moment was cherished, each memory a treasure that her family will carry forward. Described by those who loved her as loving, generous, and funny, Billie's sense of humor and infectious laughter brightened the lives of all who knew her. She had a gift for making others feel loved and valued, and her absence will leave a void that cannot be filled. As we bid farewell to Billie Sue Hall Bartley, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a legacy of love that will endure. She showed us the beauty of a life centered on family, faith, and service to others. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew her, and her teachings will continue to guide us. Billie's journey on earth may have ended, but her story—woven through the lives of her family—will continue to be told for generations to come.
Funeral service will be held 8:00PM Friday Evening, October 11, 2024, at the Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel by Jerry Morris.
Visitation will be prior to services from 6-8pm.
Funeral services will be held in Pike County, 12:00 Noon on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the Fords Branch Church of Christ with Billy Dean Ford officiating, under the direction of Lucas & Son Funeral Home in Pikeville
