Bobby Ray Looney, age 70, passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Bobby was born on June 5, 1950 to his parents the late Jack Looney and Myrtle Evans Rowe. He was the husband of Phyllis Jean Bryant Looney, a retired employee for surface mines and prep plants, and a Deacon at Little Creek Old Regular Baptist Church. Along with his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by one son, Terry Ray Looney, and one brother, Billy Don Evans. Along with his wife, Bobby is survived by one son, Gary (Joann) Looney, one daughter, April Looney Thacker, one bother, Otis Rowe, one sister, Cathy White, five grandchildren, Brittany (Zeb) Potter, Austin (Rochelle) Adkins, Whittany (Josh) Little, Gracie (Bishop) Adkins, Josie Looney, seven great grandchildren, Braxton, Christalyn, Emaleigh, Kaya, Ezra, Maddox, and Maci, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday at 6p.m. at the Little Creek Old Regular Baptist Church. Church services will be Thursday and Friday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 1p.m. at the Little Creek Old Regular Baptist Church with Teddy Honaker and others officiating. Burial will follow in the R.H. Ratliff Cemetery at Shelbiana.
