Burma Jo Bowling Sturgill, age 78, passed away Thursday, Dec. 5, 2019 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Burma was born on Dec. 1, 1941 to her parents the late Fon Bowling and Lois Hunt Bowling. She was a homemaker and a believer of the Old Regular Baptist Faith. Along with her parents, Burma was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Douglas Bowling and her infant brother, Homer Morris Bowling. Burma is survived by one son, Michael Dwayne (Deborah) Blevins, one brother, Howard Keith Bowling, two grandchildren, Alyssa Blevins (Jordan) Coleman, Courtney Blevins, one great grandchild, Hunter Steven Coleman, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Saturday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Saturday and Sunday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Monday, Dec. 9, 2019 at 12 noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Mitchie Paul Coleman and other Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Coleman Family Cemetery at Wolfpit.
