Carl W. Helbert

Carl W. Helbert, age 68 of Jenkins, Ky. passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018, at the Pikeville Medical Center.  Carl was born on December 17, 1949 in Wise, Va. to his parents the late Robert Edward Helbert and Nannie Helbert.  Carl was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of United States and a member of the American Legion.  Carl served his Country Honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was retired from the C&O Railroad. Carl was preceded in death by his parents.  Carl is survived by his two daughters, Kim Damron, Christy Osborne (Doyle), one brother, Jimmy Helbert (Donna), one sister, Allene Fuller (Paul). Carl is survived by two grandchildren, Ryan Damron, Jordan Osborne, two great grandchildren, Aaron Damron, Abel Damron and a host of loving family and friends.Visitation will be Sunday, 6:00 PM, June 24, 2018, at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home, with services at 7:00 PM.  Funeral will be Monday, 11:00 AM June 25, 2018, at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home with Edgar Sanders and Johnny Ray Swiney officiating. Burial will follow in Coeburn, Va. at the Hamilton Cemetery.  DAV Rites will follow funeral.
