Charles R. Bentley

Charles R. Bentley, age 68, of Raccoon, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at his home. Charles was born on Nov. 5, 1952 to his parents the late Lonnie Bentley and Fannie Compton Bentley. He was the husband of Karen Goff Bentley, a coal miner for Massey Coal Company, and a believer of the Freewill Baptist Faith. Along with his parents, Charles was preceded in death by three brothers, James Bentley, Don Edward Bentley, and Gene Damron, and one sister, Mary Blair. Along with his wife, Charles is survived by two daughters, Heather Bentley, Silena (Tom) McCown, one sister, Shirley Bentley Collins, two grandsons, Nicholas Dakota McKinney, Davin Charles McKinney, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Friday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Saturday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Sunday, May 16, 2021at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Estill Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the R.H. Ratliff Cemetery at Shelbiana.
