Charlie Akers

Charlie Akers, age 91, passed away Friday, May 4, 2018 at the Signature Health Care Center.  Charlie was born on April 1, 1927 to his parents the late Bill Akers and Virgie Osborne Akers. He was the husband of the late Edna West Akers and a retired coal truck driver.   He also served his country honorably in the United States Army during World War II.     Along with his wife and parents, Charlie was preceded in death by one daughter, Carol Parks and six brothers and sisters.     Charlie is survived by two sons, Timothy (Kaye) Akers, Woodrow Akers, three grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends.     Graveside service will be Monday May 7, 2018 at 1p.m. at the Davidson Memorial Garden at Ivel, Ky.
