Clarence "Clifford" Harmon, age 83, passed away Monday, May 13, 2019 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Clifford was born on Feb. 20, 1936 to his parents the late Thomas Jefferson Harmon and Gracie Damron Harmon. He was the husband of the late Yvonne Newsom Harmon, a retired prep plant attendant for Chapperal Coal Company, and a member of the Buckfield Freewill Baptist Church. He also served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Along with his wife and parents, Clifford was preceded in death by one son, Ricky Harmon, one brother, Jess Harmon, and four sisters, Ada Trivette, Eula Wright, Mae Wright, and Alma Tackett. Clifford is survived by one son, Clifford "Arnie" Harmon and his wife, Carolyn, one sister, Ruby Wright, three grandchildren, Daniel (Elizabeth) Harmon, Zachary (Alyssa) Harmon, Colby (Amelia) Kiser, three great grandchildren, Walker Harmon, Chloe Kiser, and Caden Kiser, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Wednesday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 12 noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Bruce Sawyers officiating. Burial will follow in the Richard Allen Harmon Cemetery at Virgie.
