Daniel McKinley Damron

Daniel McKinley Damron, age 83 of Pikeville, KY. passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the Pikeville Medical Center.  Daniel was born on June 19, 1941, the son of the late John A. and Angeline Prater Damron.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers Robert Pete Damron and Richard Bee Damron and by a sister, Oma Honaker.

Before his retirement, Daniel served his country Honorably in the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam as a Staff Sergent, when he was discharged, he started Dan Damron Trucking Company and was in business for over 30 years, after he left the trucking business he went to work for Pike County Fiscal Court, after 14 years of service with the county Dan retired.  He was a believer of the Old Regular Baptist faith. 

Daniel is survived by his wife of 55 years Brenda Gail, two sons, Steven Paul Damron (Christine) from Pikeville, Ky Danny Damron (Laura) from Pace Fl, a sister, Lillie Wright and two grandchildren, Eric Thacker and Tyler Damron.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, and Sunday April 6, 2025, after 6 PM at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 AM at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Jimmy Dale Sanders, Teddy Honaker, Roger Justice and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Damron Family Cemtery at Little Creek.

Special services will be held on Saturday and Sunday nights at 7 PM.
