David Campbell, age 71, of Pikeville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. David was born on May 19, 1950. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hobert and Vadna Damron Campbell. He is survived by one daughter, Rachel Campbell-Dotson (Matt) and one grandson, Huxley Scott Allen Dotson, one brother, Eddie Campbell (Jennie), along with other special family and friends. David was a graduate of Millard High School, later finishing Barber College where he became a remarkable hairdresser, later owning Tip Top Barber Shop. He was known for winning awards with his stylish, modern cuts. He worked several years for Burns Security, later retiring from the Ky. Dept of Transportation, Highway Division. David was an avid fisher and Harley Davidson enthusiast. He loved days spent on his boat and camping. He was a thrill seeker who loved rock climbling, skiing, and four wheeling. In his later years he produced a garden and utilized the knowledge from his mom and begin canning from his garden. He raised and and trained dobermans for many years but his faithful companion Signey was his favorite. David was a friend to everyone, always willing to lend a hand and smile in any situation. He never forgot a face and never failed to ask about his friends and neighbors on Upper chloe. David will be missed by many. A celebration of life for his closest friends and family will be planned for a later date. Memorials are suggested to Lucas & Son Funeral Home.
