David Jennings Meade

David Jennings Meade, age 85, of Grapevine Rd., Phyllis, Ky., passed away October 11, 2018, at the Pikeville Medical Center.David was born in Pike County, Ky  on June 8, 1933, to his parents the late David Washington Meade and Mellie Justice Meade.David was a coalminer for 40 years for Kentland Coal Company. David served his country honorably in the United States Army.David Jennings was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Wilson, Kermit and Ermel Meade, four sisters, Pebble Meade, Maggie Meade, Snowie Compton, and Mabel Hurley.  David Jennings is survived by his wife, Shirley Adams Meade, three sons, David (Rose) Meade, Thomas (Lina) Meade, Donnie (Jennifer) Meade,  two daughters, Diana (Bill) Thacker, Michelle (Kenny) Hunter. David is survived by seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and a host of loving family and friends.Visitation will be Friday, October 12, 2018, 6:00 PM at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home. Funeral will be Saturday, October 13, 2018, 11:00 AM at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home with Dwane Abshire officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery at Shelbiana, KY.
