Diana Kilgore

    Diana M. Kilgore, age 77, went to meet the Lord on March 17, 2025.  Mom was born on October 1, 1947 to the late Elder Jim Green May and Myrtle Alice Hopson May.  

     She was a mother, homemaker, wife, and made a living as a special education teacher with the Pike County Board of Education.  Mom was a believer of the Old Regular Baptist Faith.

     Mom's passions were teaching and children.  She loved both so much that after her divorce from Dad, Mom put herself through and graduated from Pikeville College in 1987 the same year her oldest graduated from high school and her youngest graduated from junior high.  Mom was so irreplaceable that once she retired from the school board.  She was a substitute teacher for herself.

   Mom has two brothers, the late Jimmie Dale "Possum" May wife, Pebble Coleman May.  Also the late Paul Dean May, and wife, Rachel Eileen Coleman May.  Mom has two sisters, Madonna Sue and Sharon Kay (May) Coleman husband the late Rolan "Butterball" Coleman.  

    Mom and Dad the late Preston D. "Chubby" Kilgore has two sons, Gregory Shawn Kilgore, wife, Vicki (Williams) Kilgore, sons, Alex Edmiston and Jeremy Elmiston and Jimmy Preston Kilgore, son Jeffrey Shane Preston Kilgore and his brother Alex Smith wife, Karen Smith, mother of both boys.

     Not to mention a ton of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and just so many others.  That mom thought of as her own children.

     Mom was a fun loving brilliant hard working person to be around.  She loved teaching children and her fur puppies.  Mom will be missed by a lot of people.  The world is a darker place without her in it.

The Family

     Visitation will be Wednesday and Thursday at 6p.m. at the Samaria Old Regular Baptist Church.  Church services will be Wednesday and Thursday at 7p.m.  The funeral will be Friday, March 21, 2025 at 11 A.M. at the Samaria Old Regular Baptist Church with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating.  Burial will follow in the Alex Ratliff Cemetery at Wolfpit.
