Donnie Gene Bowling

     Donnie Gene Bowling, born April 8, 1951, passed November 11, 2024.  He joins his parents, Azza and Virgil Bowling, his older brother, Thadeus, and his sister, Vickie, leaving behind a loving family who will always remember his larger than life presence.

     Donnie is survived by one sister, Connie Compton, his children, Ryan Bowling, Sarah (Harry Sheffield) Bowling, Amanda (Jeremy) Holbrook, and Donnie Kristan Bowling.  Each of them carries on a piece of his spirit, strong will, and unmistakable humor.  He leaves four grandsons, Justin (Destiny) Bowling, Bryce Bowling, Gavin Holbrook, and Bentley Holbrook.

     He was a 50 year member of the Thomas C. Cecil #375 F&AM Lodge and the El Hasa Shrine Temple.  Known for his straightforward opinions and a knack for saying exactly what was on his mind, Donnie was never one to shy away from a good debate, preferably on his front porch.  He had a love for horses, a fondness for good company, and a deep devotion to his family.

    Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home.  Church services will be Tuesday at 7p.m.  The funeral will be Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2024 at 12 Noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Jerry Adkins officiating.  Burial will follow in the Stewart Family Cemetery at 611.
