Elder Donald Blake Little, age 83, of Pikeville, Ky., passed away at his home on Friday, March 13, 2020. Donnie Blake was born in Pike County, Ky on July 7, 1936, to his parents the late Rube Little and Vada Ramey Little. Donald was the husband of Shelvia Ratliff Little. Donald Blake was of the Old Regular Baptist Faith, were he joined the Caney Creek Old Regular Baptist Church in July 1969. He felt that the Lord called him to the ministry in January 1971 and was ordained Elder, June 1974. He served the church over the years in the different offices as Treasurer, Assistant Clerk, Clerk, Assistant Moderator and Moderator until he was unable due to his health. He loved the church and was dedicated to do everything for the up build of the old church. He served the Burning Spring Church as Assistant Moderator for a few years. Donald Blake served his Country in the U.S. Army for two years, 1955 and 1956, nine months was in Korea. Donald worked Thomas Ratliff 27 years at various coal preparation plants and was superintendent at the Landmark Mining Company until 1986, when he had a heart attack and had to retire. Donald Blake was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Janice Robinson, Shelly Little, one brother, Marvin Little. Donald Blake is survived by his wife, Shelvia Ratliff Little, one son, Michael Gene (Connie) Little, one daughter, Donna Denise (Bill) Smith, two brothers Scotty (Justine) Little, Larry Little, one special aunt, Mildred Bartley. Survived by two grandchildren, Matthew (Juanita) Smith, Michael Blake Little, two great grandchildren, Dawson Blake Little, Zoe Paige Smith and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 6:00 PM. Sunday, March 15, 2020, at 2:00 PM at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home with church services each night at 7:00 PM. Funeral will be Monday, March 16, 2020, at 11:00 AM at the Lucas and Son Funeral with Old Regular Baptist ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Memorial Park, Pikeville, Ky.
