Dorothy L Johnson

Dorothy "Perk"  Johnson, age 88, of Poor Bottom, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at her home.  Dorothy was born on October 27, 1935 to her parents the late Howard Gibson and Martha Holland Gibson.  She was the wife of the late Franklin Johnson, a homemaker, and a member of the Poor Bottom Freewill Baptist Church.

    Along with her husband and parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by three brothers, Leon, Wesley, and Victor Gibson, and one sister, Geneva Gibson.

     Dorothy is survived by one son, Gary (Dedra) Johnson, two grandchildren, Matthew (Kristen) Johnson, Kayla (Mikie) Scarbrough, two great grandchildren, Lily Scarbrough, Parker Johnson, special nieces and nephews:  Charles Hobbs, Carolyn (Donnie) Adkins, Terry (Maxine) Gibson, and a host of loving family and friends.

     Visitation will be Thursday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home.  Church services will be Thursday at 7p.m.   The funeral will be Friday, August 2, 2024 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Richard Gibson and Terry Gibson officiating.  Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
