Edward Newsome

Edward Newsome Jr., age 69, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Edward was born on September 28, 1951 to his parents the late Edward Newsome and Celia Newsome Newsome. He was retired from furniture sales and a believer of the Old Regular Baptist Faith. Along with his parents, Edward was preceded in death by two sisters, Vada Newsome and Ruby (Robert) Napper, and one brother Marvin Newsome. Edward is survived by one son, Edward Newsome III, and his wife, Carrie Montgomery Newsome, five grandchildren, Meghan Noel, Natalie Grace, Anthony, Nathan, and Keegan, two sisters, Virginia Jones, Lexie Slone, and one half brother, Randy Newsome, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Saturday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Saturday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021 at 11a.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Teddy Honaker and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Newsom Branch Cemetery at Penny Road of Virgie, Ky.
