Elberta Adkins, age 80, passed away Sunday January 19, 2025 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Elberta was born on Feb. 16, 1944 to her parents the late Edgar Horne and Gladys Horne. She was the wife of the late Brad Adkins, a retired cook for Millard High School, and a christian.
Along with her husband and parents, Elberta was preceded in death by one daughter, Diana Smith, one grandson, Troy Neil Evans, three brothers, John, Burley, and Richard Horne, and one sister, Maggie Duffey.
Elberta is survived by one daughter, Patricia Elkins, three sisters, Margaret Williams, Octavia Cimpfer, Louise Faith, three grandchildren, Natesha Evans, Tabitha Smith, LeeAnna Elkins, six great grandchildren, Jaden and Jordan Sawyers, Kassie Evans, Braxton Stewart, Layne Brizendine, Alyssa Brizendine, and a host of loving family and friends.
A memorial service will be Wednesday from 6p.m. to 9p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 7p.m. with Morgan Chapman officiating.
