Essie Mae Wilburn

Essie Mae Wilburn, age 68, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Essie was born on May 2, 1955 to her parents the late Jessie Blackburn and Linda Essie Compton Blackburn. She was the wife of Morlyn Wilburn, a retired nurse at Pikeville Medical Center for over 35 years, and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Along with her parents, Essie was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Along with her husband, Essie is survived by one son, Eric Morlyn Wilburn, Ella (William) Miller, one brother, Lester Blackburn, three sisters, Rita Smith, Lucille Justice, Avanell Bethards, two grandchildren, Linda Elizabeth Miller, Ava Marie Miller, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be Thursday, August 3, 2023 at 11 A.M. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with President Tim Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Adams Blackburn Cemetery at Spring Branch.
