Freddie Allen Oakes

Freddie Allen Oakes, age 82, passed away Monday, May 2, 2022 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Freddie was born on April 27, 1940 to his parents the late Millard Oakes and Georgia Ball Oakes. He was the owner of Oakes Trucking Company. Along with his parents, Freddie was preceded in death by one son, Freddie Allen Oakes Jr. "Buzz", one brother, Jimmy Oakes, and one sister, Barbara Lucas. Freddie is survived by his daughter, Jerri Michelle Oakes Caldwell and her husband, Bud, his companion for 13 years, Connie Johnson, one sister, Doris Hensley, two honorary grandsons, and two honorary great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Wednesday and Thursday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Friday, May 6, 2022 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with James Justice, Greg Damron, and Larry Estep officiating. Burial will follow in the Tom Johnson Cemetery at Three Mile.
