Freddie Stewart

August 5, 1945 — July 9, 2019

    Freddie Stewart, age 73, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at the Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Ky.  Freddie was born on August 5, 1945 to his parents Viola Newsom Stewart and the late Frank Stewart.  He was the husband of Rena Thacker Stewart.  Freddie was  a retired heavy equipment operator for Apex Energy Company, and a member of the Road Creek Church of Christ.  He was a member of the Coal Country Motorcycle Club and he also served his country honorably in the United States Air Force during Vietnam.      Along with his father, Freddie was preceded in death by one brother, jimmy Tan Belcher, and one brother in law, Freddie Thacker.      Along with his wife and mother, Freddie is survived by two daughters, Susan Stewart Ward, his son in law, Barry Ward, that he loved as a son, Traci Stewart, three brothers, James (Joyce) Stewart, Harold (Sharon) Stewart, Gary Stewart, three sisters, Margaret Smith, Mary (David) Howell, Deborah (William) Cortes, six grandchildren, Christopher (Katie) Ward, Ariel Ward, Mason Ward, Sarah Lawson, Emilee Lawson, Hannah Lawson, four brother in laws, that were like brothers to Freddie, Denver, Vernon, Johnnie, and Clyde Ray Thacker, and a host of loving family and friends.      Visitation will be Friday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home.  Church services will be Friday at 7p.m.  The funeral will be Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with David Thacker and Delon Jones officiating.  Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
