Gaylord Wayne Friend

    Gaylord Wayne Friend, age 75, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2019 at his home.  Gaylord was born on May 5, 1944 to his mother Beulah Friend.  He was the husband of Clara Newsom Friend, a heavy equipment operator, a member of the Church of Christ, and he also served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during Vietnam.      Along with his mother, Gaylord was preceded in death by one daughter, Beverly Delauder, and one granddaughter, Mika Blaine Ratliff.      Along with his wife, Gaylord is survived by one son, Gaylord Wayne (Amy) Friend Jr., two daughters, Polly Anne Flourney, Darianna Friend, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends.     Visitation will be Thursday from 6p.m. to 9p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with a church service at 7p.m. with Willie Meade officiating.  Funeral services will be Friday July 12, 2019 from 2p.m. to 6p.m. with a DAV service at 3p.m. with Will Stepp officiating.
